Information We Collect

We collect the information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, country, resume files, parsed resume profile, job preferences, application answers, and any materials you ask SimpleSearch to prepare or submit.

We also collect information created while you use the service, such as saved jobs, job applications, application status history, generated cover letters, application field mappings, ATS verification events, inbound and outbound application-related emails, credit balances, credit purchases, and support or error details.

When you buy credits, payment providers process payment information and return purchase records such as checkout session IDs, payment intent IDs, product IDs, transaction IDs, purchase amounts, and status. We do not need to store full payment card numbers.

How We Use Information

• To create and manage your account, resume profile, credits, and application history.
• To help you discover jobs, prepare application materials, generate cover letters, complete application forms, and track application progress.
• To operate ATS email verification flows, including receiving and processing verification codes or links sent to a SimpleSearch application email address.
• To improve reliability, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and maintain the security of the service.
• To process purchases, grant credits, issue required refunds, and keep financial records.
• To communicate with you about your account, applications, transactions, service updates, and support requests.

AI and Automation

SimpleSearch uses AI and browser automation to parse resumes, map application fields, draft cover letters, answer form questions from your profile and resume, and move through supported job application flows. Your resume text, profile information, application details, job descriptions, and form fields may be processed by AI or automation providers for these purposes.

For Google user data, this processing is limited to the user-facing SimpleSearch features described in the Google User Data section below. We do not use Google user data to train or improve generalized or non-personalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, build advertising or unrelated profiling systems, or support unrelated product research.

You remain responsible for reviewing the accuracy of information you provide and any materials generated or submitted through SimpleSearch.

Google User Data

SimpleSearch uses Google user data only to provide user-requested features.

When you select “Continue with Google,” SimpleSearch receives your Google account identifier and basic profile information, including your name, email address, profile photo if provided, and email-verification status. This information passes through Firebase Authentication and is used only to create or identify, authenticate, secure, and manage your SimpleSearch account and session.

When you select “Upload from Google Drive,” SimpleSearch requests the per-file scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. Google Picker lets you choose one PDF résumé to share with SimpleSearch. We receive limited information about that selected file, such as its name, MIME type, file size when available, and file identifier, and download only the PDF résumé you select. We do not search or list your entire Drive, access Gmail or Google Calendar through this feature, or modify, upload, move, rename, or delete files in your Google Drive.

The selected PDF résumé is temporarily downloaded to the SimpleSearch app's cache on your device and uploaded to SimpleSearch's backend. We store and process the résumé and its parsed profile to provide résumé parsing, profile creation, job search, and job application features you request. The device cache copy can remain until it is replaced, you clear the résumé draft or app cache, or the operating system removes cached files.

Google Drive access tokens are held in the app only for the active résumé-import flow. They are not sent to or stored by the SimpleSearch backend and are not used for unrelated purposes.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, creditworthiness or lending decisions, unrelated profiling, resale, training or improving generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models, or unrelated product research.

We share Google user data only with service providers acting on our behalf to provide authentication, cloud hosting, storage, résumé processing, AI or browser automation, logging, security, and the other user-facing SimpleSearch features described here; with employers, job boards, applicant tracking systems, or related services only when you direct SimpleSearch to prepare or submit a specific job application; for security purposes such as investigating fraud or abuse; when required by applicable law; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets only after obtaining explicit prior consent where required by Google's policies.

Service providers may process Google user data only under SimpleSearch's instructions and only as necessary to provide the specific user-facing features described in this policy. They may not use it for their own advertising, resale, unrelated profiling, or generalized model-training purposes. We do not sell Google user data.

Imported résumés and parsed résumé profiles are retained in your SimpleSearch account while needed to provide the features you request. Revoking Google access prevents future access to Google Drive but does not automatically delete a résumé already imported into SimpleSearch. You can permanently delete your account, including stored résumé files and parsed résumé profiles, from the SimpleSearch app's profile settings. Limited legal, payment, security, audit, or backup records may remain as described in the Retention section.

SimpleSearch's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How We Share Information

We share information with employers, job boards, applicant tracking systems, and related services when needed to prepare or submit applications you choose. Google-derived résumé data is shared with these services only when you direct SimpleSearch to prepare or submit a specific job application.

We use service providers that help us run SimpleSearch, including cloud hosting, file storage, email delivery and receipt, queue processing, authentication, AI processing, browser automation, payment processing, in-app purchase verification, logging, and security services. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to enforce our Terms of Service, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. For Google user data, a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale disclosure occurs only after obtaining explicit prior consent where required by Google's policies.

Resumes, Files, and Emails

Resume files, generated cover letters, and related application assets may be stored in cloud storage so SimpleSearch can attach them to applications and show them in your account.

SimpleSearch may create or use application-specific email addresses to receive ATS verification messages and application-related email. We process these messages to continue application workflows, categorize application mail, and support replies when you direct us to send them.

Retention

We keep account, résumé, parsed résumé profile, application, email, credit, purchase, and operational records while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the features you request, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and maintain backups. Deleting your SimpleSearch account removes active account records, stored résumé files, and parsed résumé profiles. Limited records and backup copies may remain for legal, payment, security, audit, dispute, or backup purposes and are not used to continue ordinary account features.

Your Choices

• You can update account and profile information in the app where those controls are available.
• You can choose which jobs to apply to and which resume or application materials to use.
• You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information through the support channel available in the app. You can also permanently delete your account and associated active data from the app's profile settings.
• You can stop using SimpleSearch at any time, though some records may remain as described in this policy.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information, including access controls, encrypted transport, managed cloud storage, and credential filtering in application logs. No service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

SimpleSearch is intended for people old enough to look for work and enter into these terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as SimpleSearch changes. The updated policy will be posted at this page with a new last updated date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
